BASF receives Health Canada PMRA registration on active ingredient Xemium for new turfgrass product

Xzemplar fungicide provides Canadian golf courses with effective and long-lasting protection against dollar spot

Calgary, AB, January 21, 2021 – BASF Canada Agricultural Solutions (BASF) recently received registration of the active ingredient Xemium® from Health Canada’s Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA). With this registration, BASF introduces Xzemplar® fungicide – a new solution to address dollar spot on fairways, tees and greens.

“With Xzemplar fungicide, golf courses have another tool in the toolbox that combines the fast-stopping power of a contact fungicide with long-lasting preventative action to control the critical pathogen, dollar spot,” said Brad Hayhoe, Professional & Specialty Solutions Market Manager, BASF Canada Agricultural Solutions. “Xzemplar also features long respray intervals, curative and preventative properties and low use rates.”

Xzemplar fungicide features the latest in carboxamide technology, providing fast, continuous protection of turfgrass diseases and outstanding rainfastness. Paired with Maxtima®, which was launched in 2020, these two products can be used in rotation to combat resistance while controlling disease.
